Colour Trends For 2015
Every year a global panel of fashion insiders and style
experts choose what they think will be the most popular colour. That’s why many
clothes in the shops appear the same colour – store buyers don’t want stock that
won’t move.
As a jewellery designer you should create styles that harmonize with these colours to ensure your pieces sell well. Also sometimes contrasting effects can work almost as well.
So far for 2015, there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the colour spectrum. Pantone believe that “soft cool hues will blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle”.
Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director there says that ‘pale pastels and nature-like neutrals’ will dominate ‘as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.’
Light blues will continue to be popular, along with
‘conservative’ grey, pale greens, and subtle warm tones.
Valentine’s
Day
Valentine’s
Day is the first of the seasonal celebrations
There are lot of gifts you can make for Valentine’s Day. If you make jewellery, this is an important date to sell. Hearts, pastel colours and flirty curves are the way to go. And remember "presentation is everything" - so dainty pink and red boxes are a must.
Make anything personal, using heart beads, and red and pink pastel colors.
